Academic background:
Nurse, with Academic Diploma in Mental Health Nursing and Psychiatry, from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2005). Master in Public Health (2011) and PhD in Medical Anthropology (2018) from the University of Melbourne. She has a diploma in Eating Disorders (2006) and in University Teaching (2019) both from the UC.

Research activities and publications (last 5 years):

  • Her line of research is health inequities. She has been awarded 7 research projects, 3 with national funding (4 principal investigator), two with international funding (1 principal investigator), one project with UC funding (co-investigator) and one project with SoN funding (principal investigator).
  • She is author of 4 publications indexed in ISI/Scopus (2 principal author).
  • She has been a guide professor in research competitions for undergraduate students.
  • She is a member of the UC Migration Studies Group. This group seeks to generate instances of interdisciplinary dialogue on the migration phenomenon in Chile.

Undergraduate and graduate teaching activities (last 5 years):

  • She teaches undergraduate and coordinates courses in the area of community nursing care, mental health and intercultural health: “Nursing in Community Health II”, “Intercultural Health”, “Outpatient Nursing Internship”, “Nursing Research” and “Interpersonal Assistance Process in Nursing”.
  • She has participated in two teaching development and innovation projects, one of them with the University of North Carolina, Chappel Hill.
  • In postgraduate teaching, he has been a professor and thesis reviewer for the Master’s in Nursing and the Master’s in Public Health and a member of the thesis evaluation committee for the Master’s in Nursing UC and the Doctorate in Nursing thesis at the University of Sao Paulo.
  • She teaches courses of the Master of Public Health at The University of Melbourne, Australia.

Extension and outreach activities (last 5 years):

  • 11 presentations in international (5) and national (6) scientific events. She has conducted numerous workshops for professionals and academics, related to transitional care of adolescents and young people with chronic diseases and about the situation of migrants and health care in Chile.
  • She participates in the technical committee of the Ministry of Health to build proposals for migrant health care in Chile.
  • She participates in volunteer activities organized by the Jesuit Migrant Service and was a member of the Working Group on Health for the National Migration Policy, proposing the fundamental axes of the National Migration Policy.
  • She is a member of 3 Professional and Scientific Societies (one international) and two national and of the European Association of Social Anthropology.
  • He participates in four Editorial Committees of scientific journals (two of them international).
