Nurse from Universidad Austral de Chile (1987), Master in Health Administration from Universidad de Chile (1996), specialist in Nephrological Nursing from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2010), diploma in university teaching (2004), self-care in health (2008) and evidence-based medicine (2011), all from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Research activities and publications (last 5 years):

  • Her line of research is Chronic Health Conditions.
  • She has been awarded 9 research projects, 2 with UC funding (co-investigator) and 7 projects with School of Nursing funding (one as principal investigator).
  • She is the author of 5 publications, 2 are scientific articles indexed in ISI/Scopus (main author), 3 indexed in Scielo (1 as main author) and 1 article in the Journal of Collaborating Centers PAHO/WHO (main author).

Undergraduate, graduate and continuing education teaching activities (last 5 years):

  • She teaches undergraduate and coordinates courses in the area of adult health: “Nursing Care”, “Nursing Care in the Vital Cycle” and ” Inpatient Nursing Internship”.
  • She teaches in the postgraduate course “Nursing of Adults with Renal Problems”.
  • She presides the Undergraduate Commission and participates in the course “Advanced Nursing Practice Based on Evidence” of the Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  • She teaches Continuing Education as part of the team in charge of the diploma courses “Challenges to strengthen teaching in the clinical setting”, “Chronic Hemodialysis”, “Peritoneal Dialysis”, “Renal Support Therapy” and “Infections associated with health care”.

Extension and outreach activities (last 5 years):

  • She has made 7 presentations in scientific events, 5 of them international.
  • She is a member of the Chilean Society of Dialysis and Renal Transplant Nursing (2002 to date) and of the Chilean Association of Nursing Education (2003 to date).

  • Undergraduate Director (2018-2022) and Head of the Adult and Senescent Department (2014-2018) of the School of Nursing. Advisor to the Faculty of Medicine UC (2016-2018).
