Midwife from the University of Chile (1984), Nurse-midwife from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (1997), Master in Social Psychology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2005) and PhD in Public Health from the University of Chile (2016).

  • Her line of research is Chronic Health Conditions.
  • She has been awarded 14 research projects, 5 with national funding (as co-investigator), 3 with UC funding (as 2 as principal investigator) and four projects with School of Nursing funding (as co-investigator).
  • She is the author of 14 publications, 8 are scientific articles indexed in ISI/Scopus (1 as main author), 2 indexed in Scielo (as co-author), 2 indexed in other databases (1 as main author), 1 book chapter as co-author and 1 Manual for Caregivers of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (as co-author).

Undergraduate, graduate and continuing education teaching activities (last 5 years):

  • She teaches undergraduate and coordinates courses in the area of intercultural health and research: “Nursing Research” and “Intercultural Health”.
  • In postgraduate she teaches the course “Advanced Topics in Health” of the Master in Nursing and is a guide and thesis reviewer of the Master in Nursing and Public Health of the UC.
  • She participates in the evaluation commissions of Master’s thesis of the School of Nursing and is a member of the faculty of the Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  • She teaches Continuing Education as part of the team in charge of courses for the implementation of the Model of Care centered on the person with chronic morbidity.

Extension and outreach activities (last 5 years):

  • She has 7 presentations in scientific events, 5 of them international
  • She is a member of the PAHO/WHO Collaborating Center for the Development of Health and Nursing Services for Care in Non-communicable Diseases of the School of Nursing of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, member of the Center for Studies on Aging of the School of Social Work of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Academic Management:

  • Head of the Child and Adolescent Department of the School of Nursing (2014-2018), member of the Academic Career Committee (since 2009) and of the Research Committee (since 2019) of the School of Nursing.
