Nurse-midwife from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile(1981), Master in Public Health from the University of Chile (1990), Diploma in Higher Education from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2005), specialist in clinical simulation from the University of Miami (2008) and in Health Promotion from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO), Argentina (2013).

Research activities and publications (last 5 years):

  • Her research interests are sleep disorders and health education.
  • She has been awarded 6 research projects, one with national funding (as co-investigator), two with funding from the Pontificia Universidad Católica (principal investigator) and three projects with funding from the School of Nursing (one as principal investigator).
  • She is the author of 3 publications, 1 are scientific articles indexed in ISI/Scopus (as co-author), 2 indexed in Scielo (1 as main author).
  • Editor of the Journal Horizonte de Enfermería (2016-2020).

Undergraduate and graduate teaching activities (last 5 years):

  • She teaches undergraduate and coordinates courses in the area of nursing care in ambulatory settings and sleep disorders: “Outpatient Nursing Internship”, “Nursing Care”, “Promotion, Prevention and Recovery of Sleep” and “Didactics for Health Education”.
  • She coordinates and is a member of teams in charge of innovation projects in teaching developed in the SoN and funded by the UC.
  • In Continuing Education she directed the Diploma in Strategies for the Management of Sleep Disorders and the Nursing Home Care program and was part of the team of the Diploma in Prevention of Healthcare Associated Infections.

Extension and outreach activities (last 5 years):

  • She is a member of the team of the Family Caregivers program and the Pastoral Commission of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
  • She is a member of the National Examination Commission of the Chilean Association of Nursing Education, the Chilean Society of Sleep Disorders and the College of Nurses and Sigma Theta Tau Chilean chapter.
  • She is a member of the International Association OMBUDS.

Management activities (last 5 years):

  • Director of Extension and Continuing Education of the School of Nursing (2018-2020).
  • OMBUDS UC since 2021.
